The Creative Center at University Settlement is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the creative arts to people with cancer, chronic illnesses, and through all stages of life.
The Hospital Artist-In-Residence Program trains and employs artists to work in hospitals, hospices, cancer centers, senior programs and other health care facilities to provide art experiences at patients' bedsides, treatment areas, and in waiting rooms to patients, families, and health care staff.
  1. The Agnes Varis Trust

  2. Dr. Agnes Varis was a businesswoman and philanthropist who will be remembered for her passion for women's rights, the underprivileged, animal welfare and the arts. Agnes Varis was incredibly supportive of all the Helen Sawaya Fund Programs, personally establishing and maintaing the HSF program “Cleopatra’s touch”, a program that has brought the late Varis’ personal hair stylist to Roosevelt Hospital to offer patients free hair, wig and make-up services one-two days a week.

The Good Dog Foundation (Good Dog) was founded as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization in 1998 to promote the use of animal-assisted therapy.  Good Dog’s mission is to elevate the stature and promote society’s understanding of the therapeutic value of the human-animal bond.  This is accomplished through the use of professionally-trained and supervised volunteer teams who work to aid the healing process in humans and enhance clients’ quality of life.

  1. Laura’s Journeys

  2. Through the generosity of private donors and the travel industry, Laura’s Journeys has now awarded nearly 25+ vacations and weekend getaways to chemotherapy and radiation therapy patients through free drawings held in Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital’s Infusion Suite (11G).
